Hodown, Asheville, August 13-14, unsanctioned and a heck of a good time. Shaka placed 11th out of 20 in the unsanctioned division. Our youth attended also with a team called Hawksbill and led by Ewoo.

Shaka!2014
Shaka! had it's earliest start ever with an appearance at Winston's Winter Glaze Daze tournament on March 1-2.
Though Shaka couldn't pull off a win on the ultimate field, we did manage to win the doughnut-eating relay with thanks to birthday boy Michael Neve. It was a really fun reunion team and we wish everyone luck as they head off into the world.
Practice will begin on May 13 at 6pm-8pm for Kudzu. Practice will be run by captains.

Wow! Beach ultimate is sooooooooooooo fun! The boys were the bomb with not many subs. The girls
were fresh and brought in many points as well. We sent Terran and Conklin to the All-Star game and they
were superlative. Best of all was chicken-fighting in the 'waves' of the Chesapeake Bay.
We got shorted on games but went 4-2 on the weekend and got to see Danny!

ASU Nomads and Nonads treat everyone to a classic Boone day of ultimate in the drizzle. The tournament was a huge success bringing in more people from more places than ever before. Congratulations Kevin Byrley, Kenyon Hall, and Terran Tout for a job well done!

Savage Sectional Superheroes!
Shaka lost all four games Saturday but the story was different on Sunday. Shaka beat Strip Club, then lost players to work schedules. We played a tough Charlotte Storm team(savage for ladies and one sub for guys) and lost 13-7. Then we won a "game" against Strip Club to put us in the running for a bid to Regionals against Boxcar. The boxcar game was brutal. Very intense(savage for ladies but the boys got a fresh Byrley) and several folks were injured. In the end it was Shaka 15-14. We wish Suzanne a speedy recovery from her injuries. This is the first time in BUA history for us to win a bid to Regionals.
Congratulations on the biggest and best season ever. Thanks go out to those who played with us, those whose sponsored us(Joe and Dianne Startari) and especially to our captains, Terran Tout and Kevin Byrley.
